This week on the Hardcore Humanism Podcast we spoke with musician, songwriter, producer and activist Nile Rodgers. Many people know Nile as the co-founder of Chic, considered one of the best bands of the disco era, with anthems such as “Le Freak,” “Good Times,” and “I Want Your Love.” But Nile was also a co-writer, performer or producer on countless hit records including Sister Sledge’s “We Are Family,” David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance,” Madonna’s “Like A Virgin,” The B-52’s “Love Shack” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.” More, Nile has been a lifelong activist, from his teenage years as a member of New York’s Black Panther Party to today with his We Are Family Foundation helping youth on a range of issues including fighting for racial equality.
Hear Rodgers discuss choosing love over hate as the fuel for pursuing his music and activism. If you like what you hear, please consider writing a review on Apple Podcasts!
